The Drop: October

The Drop is the one-stop shop to find the best players, teams, and programs in youth basketball. Our team here at Grassroots 365 in partnership with Open Gym Premier and Elite Basketball Circuit meets every month to put together the best of the best. Whether through undefeated runs, tough finishes, or outright dominance over the Grassroots circuit, they have earned a right to call themselves the best on the West Coast! 

Welcome to The Drop, as we take a look back at the highlights from the month of September.

Monthly Rankings

Gene Roebuck plays the game at his own tempo, able to do a variety of things as a primary option on a tough LA G1 Elite team. His play at the Fall Kickoff averaging 14pts 6rebs and 3stls was enough to lead the team to a 14U championship against PG Elite.

North Player of the Month

Nathalio Gray Jr.s game is smooth enough to cause a blizzard in the bay. He stays on the attack with a midrange pull-up game that enrages others. Gray averaged 17pts 4rebs in two loaded events taking home All-Tournament Team MVP honors both times. 

South Player of the Month

Phillip Reed put on a balanced display in the Fall Kickoff. Putting all teams on notice with achieving a triple-double vs IE Sixers. Reed had 23 pts 12 rebs 10 stls.

Girls Player of the Month

Areni Ohanian led the LA Select to a 4-0 record in the 7th/8th Grade Girls division at Fall Kickoff. Ohanian competed hard on both ends leading the way with 8.5 pts and 2.5 stls on the weekend.

Jackson Ramirez from Bay Area Lava was on fire this past month averaging 20.4 pts per game with 4.6 3PT Made over 2 events in Open Gym Premier Oakland. Ramirez earned All-Tournament Team honors for both King of the Town and Bay Breeze.

Cisco Munoz showed his defensive prowess this month averaging 3.4 steals, with an event-high of 6 steals against Bronco Ball.

Mike Najarian really stepped into a different role this month for the 11U LA Select team. At Fall Kickoff Najarian lead his team in assists while also having an impressive stat line: 12.3 pts 9.7 rebs 5.7 ast.
