ANAHEIM, CA — Open Gym Premier, the nation’s largest operator of basketball camps, tournaments, and club teams is pleased to announce a partnership has been reached with San Diego Select, one of the nation’s most accomplished grassroots AAU programs, to form Cali Boost, an official Adidas Uprising member organization.

San Diego Select has posted an impressive résumé over the past five years, securing the recognition of having the top ranked 2020 and 2021 teams in the country. In 2016, San Diego Select capped off their unparalleled run by winning the 8th grade AAU Division 1 National Championship and playing on the Adidas Uprising 15U top gold circuit.

In January 2017, Steve Wade, founder and head coach of San Diego Select secured an Adidas sponsorship contract for his team to compete on the Adidas Uprising 16U Gold circuit. Wade, a former Division 1 player at the University of Pennsylvania and Ivy League graduate of the prestigious Wharton School of Business, is known as one of best coaches and development leaders in grassroots basketball.

Matt Kanne, President of Open Gym Premier, seized the opportunity to create a highly synergetic alliance. “We feel the combination of adding an elite high school team in San Diego Select and an experienced, talented leader in Steve Wade, as well as securing an Adidas Uprising invitation, will catapult our organization to a new level.”

Steve Wade will be the executive director and head coach of the newly established Cali Boost program, including a national 16U Adidas team in 2017 with plans of expanding to a full-fledged 15U-17U program in 2018. Open Gym Premier will utilize their resources to provide key structural support, pro-level training, and an aggressive promotional campaign centered around Cali Boost’s elite athletes.

Cali Boost will launch immediately with information related to team roster, tournament schedule, and training staff announced shortly.
