Breaking: Bay Area’s Hott City 13u Claim G365 Top Spot

Oakland, CA – The G365 Bay Area Showcase event gave teams a final opportunity to showcase themselves before the end of the winter season.

The team with the best and brightest showing was the 7th grade Hott City team that earned their way to top G365 ranking by defeating #1 Fresno Swoosh Elite in the championship game. The 7th grade division included some of NorCal’s top ranked teams (#5 Oakland Soldiers, #7 Jus B Tuf, #8 ASA Prime). Hott City’s, Antonio Arenas earned MVP.  Arenas is name to remember as he rose above some of West Coast’s best players in this event.

More highlighted teams and players at Bay Area Showcase:

  • The 8th grade, 5th ranked Oakland Soldiers proved to be the Bay Area’s top team after making it look easy against some of the other top teams. King-Jhsanni Wilhite (G365 Top 25 Player to Watch) received the event’s prominent award as the Bay Area Showcase MVP. The All-Tourney included 2024, Ben Roseborough (Matt Barnes Elite), high flying, Courtney Anderson (Team Legit), Sacramento’s, Yaqub MirJalen Newhouse (YBA Elite), and EBC Sacramento Camp MVP, Kiku Parker (Oakland Rebels).
  • The Bay Area’s 7th grade division is definitely the most talented class on the West Coast for any division. The All-Tourney team included the previously mentioned Antonio Arenas, Quinton Bundage (Jus B Tuff), playmakers, Jackson Young (Fresno Swoosh Elite), Kasen Krueger (ASA Prime), JP Kerrigan (Team Esface), and Mikey Lewis (Oakland Soldiers).
  • The #3 ranked Sacramento Yellow Jackets  in 6th grade made it a point to show they are the best team from NorCal and possibly the entire G365 circuit. Gavin Sykes (G365 Player to Watch) earned MVP honors. The talented, Dallas Washington (Oakland Soldiers) is another that had a terrific showcase performance and solidified himself as a G365 Top Player to Watch in his class.
  • In the 5th grade division, the #13 ranked SF Rebels took home the championship. Elias Obenyah (G365 Player to Watch) took home MVP honors. Teammate and center for the team, Kerry Hollins, earned All-Tourney honors.
  • In the 4th grade division, NorCal #7 ranked ASA Prime took home the championship. Guard, Zion Grissom earned MVP honors.
