Best of EBC West: Freeny, Krueger, Cain, J. Johnson and Gray

Anaheim, CA – The Elite Basketball Circuit made its final Southern California stop of the year during the Thanksgiving weekend giving players another opportunity to compete against the region’s top competition, develop their skillset and gain exposure that helps build their overall player profile. 2024 Eric Freeny of Primo Soldiers out of the Inland Empire in California earned CAMP MVP honors, but was followed closely by 2024 Kasen Krueger from the Bay Area, 2025 MVP Christopher Cain from Los Angeles Valley, 2026 Josiah Johnson from South Bay and 2026 MVP Jayden Gray from San Diego. All 5 players either earned or solidified their status on the G365 Player Watchlist.
Here are the 10 players that out at the camp:
2024 CAMP MVP Eric Freeny
Freeny is an elite tough guard that has a high basketball IQ. Freeny is a great teammate who is very skilled along with having the tools and mentality that sets him apart from the rest of the competition that will lead to his future basketball success.• 2024 Miguel Taylor
Taylor is a very talented elite player with great length and agility that he often uses to his advantage. His ability to play above the rim allows him to finish on the offensive end and protect the paint on the defensive end. Taylor also has a high motor and tremendous work ethic that were on full display during the camp’s training stations.

2024 Kasen Krueger
Krueger is an incredibly talented guard that has plenty of experience playing with and against elite competition on the G365 circuit. Krueger has a tremendously high basketball IQ that leads him to play with confidence and is always one step ahead and plays at a higher level than his competition. He uses balanced attacking techniques and finds plenty of ways to creates space for both himself and his teammates.

2024 Anthony Baston
Baston is a crafty, smooth player who uses his length to his advantage. He is very agile and does a great job dictating the pace of the game. Baston has an above average skillset at all facets of his game but excels at finishing around the basket.

2024 Channing Cade
Cade is a solid player with great length and agility. His slashing ability sets him apart being that it creates not only opportunities for himself, but also for his teammates. Cade knows that he is most effective when driving to the basket and thus rarely settles for bad shots outside the paint.

2025 MVP Christopher Cain
Cain is an elite player who shows his array of skills very well and at a much higher level than his competition. He has great size and length and although he uses that to his advantage on the offensive end, he terrifies opponents on the defensive end. Offensively Cain is a complete player with a great handle, elite vision, playmaking and shot-making abilities, and finishes at a very high level (including in-game dunks).

2026 MVP Jayden Gray
Gray has had a terrific 2019 as he followed up his EBC JACC MVP campaign with another MVP performance at EBC West. He may be one of the toughest guys to guard on the circuit as he continuously makes it a point to beat down opponents by wearing them down with the use of his body. Gray has a high basketball IQ, can finish well in the paint, is ultra-aggressive on both ends and appears to have fun doing it all.

2026 Josiah Johnson
Johnson played up at EBC West and still wowed our staff as one of the top players in the 7th grade division. He is a speedy, crafty guard that moves very well with and without the ball. He uses his speed to create a fast pace game and has high IQ talent. Johnson’s all-around skillset includes the ability to knock down jumpers with or without defenders on him.

2027 MVP Ashton Graves
Graves is a solid ball-dominant player who is always trying to create or facilitate. He has a great around skill-set that makes it tough to defend. He rarely makes mistakes and does a good job of recognizing open opportunities whether for himself or his teammates on top of playing with a lot of confidence.

2028 MVP Jonah Kim
Kim is a selfless player with great court awareness. He is a great teammate that is beloved by them because he plays the right away and will always ensure he give others plenty of looks and opportunities. When Kim is not distributing the ball, he can knock down the open jumper, can drive and finish in the paint in creative ways.
